Mood: waiting for wind
19th January 2008
Windsurfing: Cooden
Wind Direction: WSW
Wind Stength: Gusty 20-30mph
Surf / Sea State: some nice ramps / waves
Air Temperature: over the magic 10
Sea Temperature: ok, and I diptested
Weather: overcast but mild for January
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

The texts came in thick and fast .... pontificated for a bit .... fancied Camber, but Sunday looks the better day and didn't want to use up all the luck on a full day saturday and then miss the sunday ... equally didn't want to forego the saturday, and then get skunked on sunday.

Not my best session if honest .... i blame the boots, but that's not it ... just lacking fitness and feeling the extra pounds I've put on with the office job over last 12 months .... time for a re-think !!

With it being gusty, took out the trusty 3S97 but stuck the 4.7m Manic on it. First run out and hit a ramps with back foot still out of the strap .... landed okay but then fell off ... quality start that :-()

Got a bit better once I'd sorted myself out a bit, sailed underpowered, overpowered, overboarded, and just occassionally had it about right.

Wind came in a bit, so decided I'd swap over boards for the Pocket Wave 78, but then the wind dropped off and people came in to change up. Binned it early, so fingers crossed I'll sneak a Camber session tomorrow.

For a January session, with around 20 windsurfers out, it should score as super-stoked, but as I sailed like a muppet for most of the session, I should be more honest.

It was good to see the guys, and highlight of the session was Big Al's first run out ..... first ramp ..... nice back-loop attempt, and so so close to sailing away from it .... big up for Big Al ..... QUALITY
